Bone density scan

Contrast examinations are performed on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday Between 9:30 am – 12:00 pm.

Procedure Information

X-RAYS
No appointments are necessary can walk in Monday – Friday between the hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Saturdays between the hours of 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
MRI

Appointments must be made Monday – Friday first appointment at 7:00 am and last appointment at 8:30 pm. (Except for contrast studies)

All contrast study patients cannot have anything to eat or drink 8 hours prior to exam and test must be done in the morning. If medication must be taken in the morning you can take the medication but with a small sip of water.

•Have you ever had any surgery?
•Have you ever had any injuries where metal fragments have gotten in your eyes?
•Have you every had any implants (ex. stents, aneurysm clips or pacemaker)
•For women – Any possibility that you may be pregnant?

SONOGRAMS

Appointments are available Monday – Friday between the hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Abdomen – Nothing to eat or drink 8 hours prior to examination.
(Test must be done in the morning)
Pelvis– Drink 32 oz. of water 1 hour prior to test. You can eat but do not release your bladder.
Transrectal Prostate – Fleet enema the night before the exam. Nothing to eat the morning of the exam and must come in with a full bladder (4-5 8 oz. glasses of water.
Pregnancy – Full bladder 4-5 8 oz. glasses of water.
Renal Artery – Nothing to eat of drink 12 hours prior to test.  Take 2 Anti-gas tablets the night before the test.  Then take 2 anti-gas tablets 2 hours prior to the test.

CT

Appointments available Monday – Friday between the hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm and Saturdays between the hours of 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.

All contrast studies cannot have anything to eat or drink 8 hours prior to examination and test must be done in the morning. If medication must be taken in the morning you can take with a small sip of water.

All contrast studies must have recent bloodwork performed recently within the last 6 weeks and the results must be brought in the day of the exam.
Abdomen & Pelvis – For oral contrast patient must come in 1 hour prior to appointment time to drink barium liquid which has to be in their system for atleast 1 hour.

UPPER GI & ESOPHOGRAM
Nothing to eat or drink after 12:00 midnight.
MAMMOGRAPHY

Appointments available Monday – Friday between the hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Must not use any powder, perfume or deodorant on the underarms or breasts on the day of the exam. If mammograms were performed in another facility prior films must be brought in.

BARIUM ENEMA

Liquid diet the day before the exam (ex. Water, fruit juice, coffee tea, clear soup, jello) and drinking at least (8) ounce glasses of liquid.

Evening before the exam at 6:00 pm. Take one (1) bottle of Citrate of Magnesia at 6:00 pm. At 10:00 pm take a warm water enema using 1 ½ quart lying down on the left side initially and rotating from side to side until completed. Hold in for as long as possible. Repeat enema early in the morning.

IVP
Must have recent bloodwork performed within the last 6 weeks and the results must be bought in the day of the examination.

Evening before the exam about 5:00 – 6:00 pm – Eat a light dinner (chicken or fish). No fruits, vegetable or red meat. At about 7:00 – 8:00 pm need to drink an entire bottle of Citrate of Magnesia. The morning of the exam allowed to drink clear liquids 3 hours prior to the test. Use no milk or solid foods. Take all of your medications as usual with a small sip of water.

Policies

PRECERTIFICATION

For all examinations prescriptions from referring doctors must be brought in with insurance card and picture identification. If pre-certification is needed for any examinations we must have the pre-certification the day of the examination.

COPIES

If you would like to obtain a copy of the films 24 – 48 hours notice needs to be given in order for them to be available for pick up. There is a film charge of $5 per film. For mammogram films there is no fee.
